Pershore Midsummer Brass is an annual one day Brass Band Festival which takes place on the first Saturday in July. Starting at 10am with a specially commissioned Fanfare played from the Bell Tower of Pershore Abbey, the day involves over 30 brass bands performing for 12 hours in 4 venues.
The bands come from as far afield as Wales, the Forest of Dean and the whole of the Midlands from Staffordshire to Gloucestershire and range from training and youth bands through to top class first section and championships bands with world rankings.
For the modest sum of £7.50 you can listen in the calm and uplifting Abbey or in the gardens at The Angel or The Star. A free programme can be heard at Chapman Court, outside Asda which often has more of a 'fun' atmosphere.
In addition to the main Festival day there are also two major fundraising events: Pershore Proms at The Angel, this year on Saturday 5th September 2020 and our Autumn Concert in Pershore Abbey.
Our event in August 2019 was a rousing evening with AW Parker (Drybrook) Band leading the event supported by Dean Bayliss, Lolly Parton and Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society. The event in 2020 will also once again feature the fabulous AW Parker (Drybrook) band who will be supported by .... come back later in the year to find out more, or join us on 4th July to hear the band perform.
In November 2019, Arrow Valley Brass Band and Kidderminster Valentines entertained us in an afternoon concert of delight. The 2020 concert is on the afternoon of Saturday 7th November and will feature The Langley Band - who will also be able to be heard at Pershore Midsummer Brass.
Tickets will be available from the Angel and the Star Inn
